Werner Schmid Achieves ISO 50 001 Certification

Environmental protection and sustainability have long been a top priority for Werner Schmid. Of course, against the backdrop of climate change and the current energy crisis, the issue of energy takes on particular significance. To reduce its own carbon footprint, Werner Schmid has been engaged in a continuous improvement process for quite some time. We are a member of the “Climate-Friendly SMEs” initiative of the Association of Energy Consumers (VEA) and also participate in regional Energy Efficiency Networks (EEN). Since 2015, we have had an ISO 14001-certified environmental management system, within the framework of which we have, of course, already explored ways to reduce energy consumption.

We have now taken our commitment to sustainable energy management to a new level and formally demonstrated it through ISO 50 001 certification. The initial certification audit took place in May 2023 and was successfully completed. We are proud to now hold a certificate for our energy management system.

Werner Schmid’s energy team recognizes that our society faces enormous challenges and that certifying an energy management system can only be the first step. Therefore, we will not slacken in our efforts to further reduce our carbon footprint and will continue to be actively involved in energy efficiency networks as well as the Climate-Friendly SMEs initiative.
