ZDF’s “frontal” magazine reports on Werner Schmid’s collaboration with Perspektiva

The nonprofit organization Perspektiva, based in Fulda, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year—and Werner Schmid has been working with the organization for just as long. The organization is dedicated to integrating young people with disabilities into the open labor market. In 1999, Werner Schmid was one of the founding members of Perspektiva and has enjoyed a long track record of success ever since. Working in collaboration with Perspektiva, Werner Schmid has already been able to hire a total of five disadvantaged young people into permanent positions. All five are still employed by Werner Schmid today; the oldest has been with the company for over 21 years.

As part of an investigation into working conditions in workshops for people with disabilities, the ZDF magazine program “frontal” has now also taken notice of the good work being done by Perspektiva. In June, a team from frontal came to Fulda to get a firsthand look at the situation. During their visit, they spent two days accompanying a former Perspektiva protégé who has now been employed by Werner Schmid for eleven years. Of course, they also visited his workplace in our final inspection department.
